Class Accounts
Stony Brook’s Blackboard system is available to all instructors who are teaching face to face, credit bearing courses at both the Stony Brook and Manhattan Campus. All students who are registered for your course will be loaded into the course a few days before the semester begins.

As of May 2006, classes are automatically created but are not available to students. Instructor who wish to use their Blackboard classes must activate them by logging into Blackboard and changing the course settings to available. As long as you are the instructor and/or TA on file in PeopleSoft, you should see your courses once you log into Blackboard.

If you would like to have students see your Course, you will have to activate it. Here's how:

1. Log into Blackboard with your Net ID Username & Password.
2. Under My Courses, you will see your summer courses (You will also see Fall 2006 after May 22nd). If your courses are unavailable it will say so next to the course.
3. Click on the course that you would like to make available and go to the Control Panel, choose: Settings in the Course Options Area. Then choose: Course Availability and choose Yes to make your course available.

** Students will not have access to your course until you make it available **
